Childcare DOLLAR$ for Working Families
Childcare DOLLAR$ is a program that expands access to childcare subsidies for working families with children between the ages of six weeks and 12 years, who reside in Monroe County. To be eligible to receive Childcare DOLLAR$, parents must work and have incomes up to 275% of the federal poverty level; there is no restriction on family size. The subsidies will cover a portion of childcare expenses, leaving the parent to pay a weekly co-payment.
Applying
Applications are now available online. We still strongly encourage parents to consider applying with the help of an Enrollment Facilitator. To find the enrollment site closest to you, see Daytime Enrollment Opportunities. If you would like an informational packet, please call 295-1000, ext. 296.
Please leave your name, address and home number. A packet of information will be mailed to you. Once you receive your Childcare DOLLAR$ parent information packet, you can come to locations conveniently located throughout the county and complete the application with an enroller. Enrollment facilitators are trained volunteers from a number of organizations who will work with parents one-on-one to complete the applications and ensure that necessary documentation is in order.
Enrollment is open but there are a limited number of subsidies. Submitting a complete application will increase your chances of securing a subsidy.
