More about Childcare DOLLAR$
Goals
The goal of Childcare DOLLAR$ is to increase moderate income families' access to childcare assistance.
Partners
Partners of Childcare DOLLAR$ have received a contract from the Office of Children and Family Services for a pilot demonstration project. This pilot project was initiated by Assemblymember Susan John and the New York State AFL-CIO, and will be funded from the $2.5 million appropriated in the 2004-2005 New York State budget to pay for the cost of childcare subsidies for approximately 400 families.
The plan was developed by Children’s Institute, Inc., the Monroe County Chapter of the New York Union Child Care Coalition, members of the Greater Rochester Early Childhood Education Quality Council, the Family Child Care Satellite Network, the Rochester Childfirst Network, and the Monroe County Department of Human Services.
