Mission Statement

A.C.T.-For the Children is dedicated to reducing the negative impact of a parental breakup on children. The primary goal is to empower parents with information and skills for protecting their children from ongoing conflict, strengthening parent-child relationships, and fostering children's resilience and healthy development.

Goals

  • Reduce the negative impact of divorce or separation on children
  • Teach parents how to contain conflict and foster children's resilience and healthy adjustment

How It Works

  • Mental health professionals conduct A.C.T.-For the Children classes in addition to presentations by a judge and attorneys on legal aspects
  • Participants attend two classes, three and one-half hours each
  • Skills are taught to support children's healthy development
