ELLEN LEOPOLD, M.Ed.
Social, Emotional and Behavioral Consultant

Ellen Leopold, M.Ed., is a Social, Emotional, and Behavioral Health Consultant for Children’s Institute. She has worked in education for more than thirty years. Since 2005, Ellen has consulted with Rochester, NY elementary schools and preschools on the implementation and fidelity of the evidenced-based social and emotional learning (SEL) programs, PATHS and PATHS Preschool. In 2014, she began partnering with preschool teachers, administrators, parents and grandparents in understanding challenging behaviors and identifying practices and strategies to support relationship building, and children’s healthy social and emotional development. In January 2016, Ellen was named as a trainer and coach to New York State’s Master Cadre for the Pyramid Model, an evidenced-based, public health tiered model of early childhood social and emotional development: promotion, prevention and intervention. That same year, Ellen joined the GROW Rochester community-wide team (comprehensive, whole child health screenings) to assist early childhood staff and families in following up on children’s health care and educational referrals. Ellen is the proud parent of four children and four grandchildren.
