Celebrating at the YCWC Juneteenth Freedom Resource Festival
The Young Child Wellness Council (YCWC) had a beautiful day for their community JUNETEENTH FREEDOM – Resource Festival held on Saturday, June 24, 2023. This event was coordinated by YCWC Parent Leaders Devon Reynolds and Cherriese Bufis. Families, neighborhood community members, and community agencies all joined in the celebration. Children played in the Bounce House, danced, blew bubbles, and colored a beautiful Juneteenth mural that will stay in the community. Adults gathered resources, shared stories, and laughed. And, everyone ate!!
Juneteenth commemorates the effective end of slavery in our country. The goal of the event was to bring the community together, celebrate this important day and provide resources for families.
Thank you to all who came out and celebrated with us. A good time was had by all!
